Manchester, Feb 7 (IANS): English football giants Manchester United coach Louis van Gaal does not believe his club is in talks with former Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho and has termed such media reports as "nonsense".
Reportedly Mourinho has been closely followed by the United management in the last few weeks and some media reports even insist he has had a meeting with some club officials.
"When there is such nonsense written about me, I do not believe that there is already a relationship between Jose Mourinho and Manchester United," van Gaal was quoted as saying by the BBC on Sunday.
The 64-year-old Dutchman said the stories have affected his family but he has never doubted his abilities.
"The last two months have been very difficult for my wife, my kids, my grandchildren and my friends to cope with. For me too, but I can cope," he said.
"In the Netherlands they know I am too arrogant to doubt myself, but I also know that such a nonsense is being created about me."
