Majadahonda (Spain), Feb 6 (IANS): Atletico Madrid's Argentine manager Diego Simeone has said that it was his own failure that Colombian player Jackson was unsuccessful with the Spanish team.
Martinez moved from Atletico to Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande on Tuesday. However, Simeone pointed out that such matters are parts of soccer, emphasizing that he will not change his playing style, reports EFE.
In a press conference on Friday ahead of Saturday's La Liga clash between Atletico and Eibar, Simeone explained that undoubtedly when a player fails with the team, the coach is primary responsible for that failure, noting that Martinez did not have the chance to show his best qualities.
It was announced on Tuesday that Martinez has moved from Atletico Madrid to Chinese Guangzhou Evergrande for 42 million euros ($46.8 million), after six months at the Spanish club when he played 22 games and scored just three goals.
