B'luru: St Anthony’s PU, Darshan College celebrate college day

Bengaluru, Feb 4: An incredible and extravagant college day was celebrated by the Anthonians wherein the registrar of Bangalore University, Prof Dr K K Seethamma was the chief guest. She felicitated the bachelor’s degree holders with the convocation certificate on the occasion. 

Stressing on the role of teachers as good mentors, the registrar gave a new impetus to the academics as well as to the life out-side the classrooms. In her address, she recalled the contributions of Dr Varghese Kurien, Swami Vivekananda and others who had a dream for the nation. 

Being an economist of high profile, she highlighted about global and local market and said, “Progress and development is possible only when every child in this country is empowered with education.” 

Minister for youth empowerment & sports and fisheries, K Abhayachandra Jain, expressed his happiness to see the Capuchin fathers working for the rural youth who are marginalised and are deprived of good and quality education. He appreciated the variety of activities which are conducted in order to impart the holistic education so that the future of the nation is transformed and trained to be more efficient and effective in the nation building task. 

Sharadha G Muniraju, the corporator BBMP, paid her maiden visit to the college after the elections and was overwhelmed to see the enthusiasm of the students and the quality of education that is imparted in the College. 

“Education is the greatest of all wealth. It is the precious treasure that no one can take way,” proclaimed Venkatesh, sub-inspector of police, Kengeri.

Circle inspector of police, A Yellagaih was felicitated on the occasion. 

On this auspicious occasion, in the presence of the august gathering the president Dr Fr Dolphy Pais, the provincial minister of the Capuchins of Karnataka, blessed the foundation stone for the new college building and recalled the words of St Francis of Assisi, ‘stone by stone, brick by brick, building in unity’ and expressed his dream that St Anthony’s PU College and Darshan College may rise to the greater heights in moulding the global leaders of tomorrow.

The College students rocked the stage with variety of dances and shows which captivated the crowd all along.

    It's nice to observe the skill, enthusiasm and lively/colourful College Day celebration by students of St.Anthony's PU and Darshan College.

    Certainly, these institutions will be contributing to our nation, leaders of high achievements as well of high moral values, which is the need of the hour.
