Los Angeles, Feb 4 (IANS): A man was detained outside Taylor Swift's home here after the police received a call from the singer's residence.
The man was arrested on Wednesday, after the Los Angeles Police Department received a complaint from Swift's residence at 2:45 p.m., reports aceshowbiz.com.
The police later confirmed that the man was detained for an investigation at 4:40 p.m. Those who live near Swift's house got "spooked" by the man when they saw him standing outside their homes. According to eyewitnesses, the man was yelling for Swift to come out of her home. They also suggested that the man seemed unstable.
A police officer said that he was then taken to the West Los Angeles Division police station for further medical evaluation.
"The man was detained for an investigation. He was not supposed to be in that area or near that home. He was taken for observation for an undisclosed medical condition," the officer said. However, the man was later released without being charged with a crime.
It's unknown if Swift was inside her house when the incident happened. Her spokesperson said that they were disappointed with the media because they had published the singer's address.
"This is why it's irresponsible for the media to publish the addresses or recent real estate transactions of celebrities. This, or potentially worse, is the end result," the spokesperson said.
