UP releases Rs.80 crore for international airport in state


Lucknow, Feb 4 (IANS): The Uttar Pradesh government has cleared the first instalment of Rs.80 crore for constructing an international airport in Kushinagar district, a key stopover of Buddhism followers across the world, officials said on Thursday.

The amount has been passed for the construction of the runway of the airport, that is being built on a public private partnership (PPP) model.

A stretch of 569-hectares land has already been provided for the project.
