Udupi, Jan 26: The members of Karnataka Dalit Sangarsha Samiti, district committee, on Tuesday January 26, held a protest at DC office Manipal and demanded quality education in government schools.

Addressing the protesters, Sundar Master said, “The government should concentrate in providing equal rights in education for dalit students without any discrimination on the basis of caste, religion and money.”

“CM Siddaramaiah led-Congress government has been given many bhagyas which are not helping people. CM may announce many more useless schemes in future. These Bhagyas are not worth but he should provide equal opportunities for dalits in education.”

“Providing proper teachers in schools is important. Many of the government schools don’t have teachers. Nearly 34,000 teacher’s posts are vacant and the government is not recruiting in the state.  The government should provide quality education at the government schools,” he urged.

“The government should also take strict action against unauthorized private schools. State administration should stop recruiting teachers under contract basis,” he further demanded.

Sundar Gujjarbettu, state convener, Shankardas, Parameshwar, Uppoor, S Vijay, Prashant Thottam, Narayan Manoor and others were present.
