Udupi, Jan 24: A woman has complained to the Padubidri police station on January 23 that she lost jewellery worth Rs 4 lacs while she travelled from Udupi to Hejamady on January 18.
H Chandrika is the complainant. As per the complaint, she had gone to her mother’s house in Udupi for Paryaya celebrations on January 15. On January 18, she decided to come back to her husband’s house in Hejamady. While coming back she took a Volvo bus from Udupi government bus stand to get down at Padubidri.
After that she took an auto to reach home at North Sulthan Nagar in Hejamady. On the same night she realised that she had lost the jewellery she was carrying in her bag. Chandrika has mentioned in the complaint that she lost 20.5 sovereigns of jewellery worth Rs 4 lacs. She had kept the jewellery in a plastic box and kept in the bag. The bag was cut to take the box containing jewellery. It is not yet known where she lost the jewellery during her travel.
