Bengaluru, Jan 16: Arogya Kavacha 108 ambulances in the state will go on indefinite strike with effect from January 24 demanding overtime and other facilities.
GVK Company who manages the Arogya Kavacha ambulances reportedly makes the ambulance employees to work for 12 hours but only pays salaries for 8 hours. The employees who have decided to go on strike have demanded that they should be paid for the extra 4 hours they work for the company.
‘When the high court and labour department have opined that a worker should be paid according to his or her work, the company has not implemented the same for the ambulance staff’ says part of the letter written by the workers union to the company.
The letter warns that if the overtime and other demands are not met, they will continue their strike indefinitely.
It is recalled that few months back the union had gone on state-wide strike.
