Tokyo, Jan 15 (IANS): Tokyo stocks rebounded from Thursday's rout from the bell, as investor sentiment was lifted by the US shares' overnight rally.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 244.22 points, or 1.42 percent, from Thursday to 17,485.17, while the broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 17. 77 points, or 1.26 percent, at 1,424.32, Xinhua news agency reported.
All industry categories on the main section gained ground, with mining, oil and coal products, and shipping-linked shares comprising early advancers.
