Udupi, Jan 14: The list of dignitaries who are expected to make their appearance at the festivities connected with the beginning of fifth Paryaya of Pejawar Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji makes an impressive reading. Senior BJP leader, L K Advani, union ministers, Nitin Gadkari, Suresh Prabhu, Sadhwi Uma Bharti, Anant Kumar, Smriti Irani, Sadananda Gowda, Sripad Nayak, Nirmala Seetaraman and G M Siddeshwar are some of those who are expected to participate.
Rajasthan chief minister, Vasundhara Raje, Maharashtra chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis, Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu, former Karnataka chief ministers, B S Yeddyurappa, Veerappa Moily, Jagadish Shettar, H D Kumaraswamy and Dharam Singh, chairman of legislative council, H D Shankaramurthy, leader of opposition in council, Eshwarappa, Tamil Nadu minister, Panneerselvam, high court judges, Justice N Kumar and Justice P S Dinesh Kumar, ministers, Abhay ChandraJain, Dinesh Gundu Rao and A Manju, Rajya Sabha member, Oscar Fernandes, MP, Prahlad Joshi, and deputy chairman of state planning commission, C M Ibrahim are some other names found in the list.
Media centre set up by Paryaya Celebrations Committee near Srikrishna Math was initiated by Pejawar Swamiji and Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari, Dr Veerendra Heggade, on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Swamiji said that the police department will be making special security arrangements for the visiting dignitaries without creating problems for the general public. He noted that people from Karnataka coast have contributed heavily through Hore Kanike for the Paryaya, adding that arrangement for food distribution to the public has been made on the night of January 17 and January 18 afternoon. He said that consciousness towards righteousness will be awakened among the hearts of the people through Paryaya festival.
Dr Veerendra Heggade expressed happiness at being involved with preparations for the Paryaya. He said that in addition to traditional programmes, programmes conforming to present day culture will also be presented. He also informed that ten tableaux and cultural teams from states like Punjab, Maharashtra, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Goa and Karnataka will present different folklore programmes.
Pejawar Math Diwan, Raghuramacharya, Balaji Raghavendra Acharya of Paryaya committee and Bhuvanendra Kediyoor were present.
