Canvas Fantabulet: Biggest-ever Micromax smartphone is here


New Delhi, Jan 13 (IANS): Micromax, one of India's leading smartphone company, on Wednesday announced the launch of its biggest smartphone ever - the Canvas Fantabulet with a 6.98-inch high-definition IPS screen.

With an aim to disrupt India's popular phablet market, the smartphone is exquisitely designed combining ergonomic and stylish form factor and best-in-class technology features to offer a rich multimedia experience as well as efficient work tool to the consumers.

"We ignited the phablet category with the launch of Canvas range of devices which proved to be extremely popular among the consumers," Vikas Jain, co-founder of Micromax Informatics, said in a statement.

"With the launch of Canvas Fantabulet, we are yet again pioneering a new category that will change the way people use smartphones, making it their first choice for consumption and productivity needs," Jain added.

Fantabulet has a large 16M colors display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels and 2.5 mm thick dual box speakers deeply integrated with DTS sound technology -- making it an entertainment powerhouse for a long lasting audio-visual experience with its 3,000 mAh battery.

Running on the Android 5.0 (Lollipop) operating system, the Canvas Fantabulet is packed with 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 2-megapixel selfie shooter.

The smartphone also offers, 8 GB on-board memory and a 32 GB expandable memory card.

The new Canvas Fantabulet is priced at Rs.7,499 and will be available in Chrome Gold colour through the e-commerce website Flipkart.
