Mumbai, Jan 11: The 20th Kuvempu memorial one act drama competitions held by Karnataka Sangha, in the city concluded on January 10. Drishya Kavya group of Bengaluru was awarded first prize, Bhash Lalithakala Sangha, Bengaluru was awarded second prize and Bhoomika Haradi Udupi group won the third prize in the competitions.




























In the concluding ceremony held at Dr M Vishweswaraya auditorium presided by Chandanavahini programme producer and famous poet Subbu Holeyar on Sunday January 10, popular drama director Vasantha Bannady and honorary treasurer of the Sangha, B G Nayak presented the prizes to the winning groups and congratulated them.

In the competitions held from Friday January 8, nearly 12 groups participated. The guests honored Sundara Kotian, Avinash Kamath, Surendra Marnad, Harish Hebbar, K V R Aithal, Kavitha Sasvehalli and
Supriya Hadapada who helped to hold the competitions. He thanked sponsors Kamalaksha Saraf, Mohan Marnad and others who sponsored the prizes.

Honorary secretary Omdas Kannangar welcomed the gathering and gave the keynote address. Well known musician Ramachandra Hadapada and group started the cultural programme with songs from plays. Surendra Marnad and K V Aithal introduced the guests and Anitha Poojary Takode introduced the judges. Former vice president and dramatist Dr Bharath Kumar Polipu compered the programme and announced the results of the competition.

Honorary treasurer M D Rao proposed the vote of thanks.
