Margao, Sep 1: Churchill Alemao minister of Public Works Department said that he will take action on erring contractors, who have failed to give good roads to Goans, by using low quality items. But it is very strange that, in these days Kundaim-Panjim highways potholes are replenished by putting soil, instead of gravels.

Almost all the major roads of Goa are in dilapidated condition. The condition of Kundaim-Panjim highway is worse, for which locals had served ultimatum to government to hot mix the same. Instead, the government contractors are replenishing those potholes by putting soil, which is getting washed away, by heavy lashing of rain.

Now locals have demanded to put the work of this contractor under scanner, and probe in it, as the roads are washing out.

“We never heard that road potholes are replenished by using soil. There was a landslide in our area, the same soil is been used for this purpose, I do not why government and these contractors are fooling us. We want probe in this,” said Vishnu Gawade, resident of Kundaim, to Daijiworld correspondent.

According to sources government have passed this tender in lacs of rupees, but nobody is bothered to check the status of same.

Now locals have decided to gherao the chief engineer of concerned department.
