Markets open on slightly higher note


Mumbai, Dec 31 (IANS): The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) on Thursday opened on a higher note during the morning session of the trade.

The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) after opening at 25.980.86 points touched a high of 26,002.24 and a low of 25,953.25 points in the morning.

The Sensex is trading at 25,964.34 points up by 4.31 points or 0.02 percent.

The Sensex closed at 25,960.03 points on Wednesday.

Similarly the broader 50-scrip Nifty at National Stock Exchange (NSE) gained a marginal 0.05 percent during trading in the morning session.

The Nifty is trading at 7,900.55 points as against the previous days closure of 7,896.25 points.
