Teenager held for raping mentally challenged Goa woman


Panaji, Dec 29 (IANS): A 16-year-old boy was on Tuesday held for allegedly raping a 21-year-old mentally challenged woman near here, police said.

"The rape was committed on Tuesday morning when the boy went to the woman's house located next door. On finding the woman alone, he raped her," a police spokesperson said.

A first information report was filed by the woman's guardians at the Old Goa police station under relevant sections of the Goa Children's Act and the Indian Penal Code.

The minor was later put in a juvenile home in Merces near Panaji.
