Bantwal, Dec 29: Acting under the directions of district magistrate, policemen have arrested a person accused of repeatedly disrupting peace by involving himself with crimes which disturbed harmony in the region. He has been identified as Hassan Sadiq alias Sadiq alias Blade Sadiq (26), a resident of Kadambu in Vittal Padnoor.

Sadiq, who lives in a rented home at Vittal owns a truck and also works as driver. He is said to be having a team of trusted lieutenants who support him in acts of rioting, assault, and other illegal activities in Vittal, Vittal Padnoor, Vittal Mudnoor and surrounding areas. It is learnt that he faces over nine cases.

The policemen say that Sadiq had ensured in several cases of murder attempt and assaults apart from posing death threats to witnesses and complainants, that the cases were either disposed off by the court or end in conciliation. He misused legal system many a time, got released, and again got involved with criminal activities. Because of his habit of disrupting peace in the region, he was booked under Goonda Act, it is said.

Vittal station sub-inspector, Prakash Devadiga and other staff of the station, acting under the guidance of district superintendent of police, Dr Sharanappa, additional superintendent of police, Vincent Shantakumar, and leadership of Bantwal assistant superintendent of polcie, Rahul Kumar and circle inspector, Belliappa, arrested the accused.
