Mangaluru, Dec 28: Posts of as many as 214 DySPs in the state have been made permanent through an order issued on December 17, informed MLC Ivan D'Souza.
Addressing a press meet here on Monday December 28, Ivan said, "Even though police inspectors were promoted as DySPs, their posts were not made permanent. Instead they worked as in-charge.
"When I raised this issue in the state Assembly, home minister Dr Parameshwara replied that he would to take appropriate measures on the issue. Accordingly, the home depasrtment on December 17 issued an order making the posts of 214 DySP officers permanent," he said.
"Earlier, though the inspectors were promoted as DySPs, they were working as in-charge DySPs. Even after their retirement, they could claim pensions only as inspectors and not as DySPs.
