Mangaluru: UCA to hold Christmas Souharda programme on Dec 26

Mangaluru, Dec 24: "Following the age-old tradition of the past years, United Christian Association will be organizing a Christmas Souharda programme on December 26 at the stadium near Kulshekar- Silver Gate at 3 pm," revealed Francis D'Costa, vice-president of the association.

Addressing media persons he said, “Since harmony between various religions is the need of the hour, addressal on the topic 'need for religious harmony' has been organized. This programme will witness the presence of Seer Eashavitthaladasa Swamiji from Sandeepani Ashram, Kemaru, Fr J B Saldanha, parish priest of Permannur church and president of Ullal Jumma Masjid Al-haz US Hamza as chief speakers.”

“During the program the key of the house which was built at Rs 15 lac by the association will be handed over to Harekala Hajabba and the key of the house built at Rs 5.5 lac will be handed over to a lady by the name of Patricia from Permannur will also be handed over.”

“On the occasion, a Christmas procession along with a tableau will commence at 5 pm and the procession will return to Kulshekar from Hampankatta via Kadri, Kankanady and Bejai."

“The children from the re-habilitation centre 'Jeevadan' will also perform in the program.”

The president of the association, Alban Menezes, treasurer Joe Rego, office bearers Benedict and Mouris were present at the occasion.
