Ajman, Dec 21: The human resources department of Thumbay group, the multinational conglomerate headquartered at DIFC- Dubai, organized a blood donation camp at GMC Hospital, here, the leading academic hospital owned and operated by Thumbay Group, on Thursday December 17.
The camp, held from 5 pm to 10 pm in association with Sharjah Blood Transfusion and Research Center saw the participation of a large number of donors from the staff of Thumbay group, including those from GMC Hospital, as well as the members of the public.
Akbar Moideen Thumbay, vice president of the healthcare division of Thumbay Group and the members of the administrative team of Thumbay Group and GMC Hospital were present at the camp.
“Thumbay Group is proud to be conducting this blood donation camp, which is one of our humble efforts in paying back to society. Corporate social responsibility is a full-fledged activity of Thumbay Group and the Thumbay Foundation was formed as a charitable trust established to support charitable activities in healthcare, education and social causes on behalf of the group,” said Thumbay Moideen, founder president of Thumbay Group.
The blood donation camp aimed to educate the community on the beneficial aspects of blood donation and to promote awareness amongst the general public about safe blood transfusion and to motivate people to donate blood voluntarily for a noble cause. Blood donation camps are regularly held by GMC Hospital Ajman, to supplement the efforts of government blood banks and other regulatory bodies with regard to voluntary blood donation.
Akbar Moideen Thumbay distributed certificates to Thumbay group employees who participated as donors, as a token of appreciation for their support to the CSR cause.
