Lucknow, Dec 21 (IANS): The Uttar Pradesh government has identified 14 lakh "extremely under-nourished children" and has begun intensive monitoring to ensure that they get proper and adequate attention, an official said on Monday.
The state government has instructed all district magistrates to ensure 'Village Health Nutrition Day' at the Gram Sabha level.
Chief secretary Alok Ranjan has also issued directives for providing Rs.10,000 to village health cleanliness and malnutrition committee in each revenue village annually through the health department.
Under the State Nutrition Mission, activities related to nutrition should be shared through mobile app along with selfie photographs, so that information could be uploaded on the mission website, Ranjan said.
Films, and other publicity material will also broadcast from January next year in cinema halls and electronic channels to further spread awareness about the mission, officials told IANS.
