Kuwait, Dec 17: Kanajar Welfare Association Kuwait (KWAK) celebrated its Christmas Tree program on December 11 at Salmiya hall, Salmiya. The program commenced at 6.00 pm with the general welcome by Melwyn Mascarenhas and introduction speech by Edward D'Souza.
Ivan Menezes, president of KWAK welcomed all the members as well as the guests. The program began with a prayer led by the cultural secretary Gretta D’Sa and her team.
A special advent message spreading program was conducted by Leena Fernandes and team with 5 colored candles and pluck cards.
The Christmas cake was cut by the main sponsor of the event Lawrence Saldanha, co-sponsor Robert D'Souza, president and all the committee members.
Special kuswar prepared by Robert Menezes was distributed to the guests.
Kanajar Kids participated in the Christmas dance and soon after, all the committee members performed carol singing. The Christmas tableau with the aim of spreading the importance of Christmas was well written and directed by Edward D’Souza, narrated by Sharol Menezes and presented by the committee members.
The entry of Santa Claus was the special attraction of the event among the children and goodie bags were distributed to all the kids.
Well known choreographer and dancer Vinitha D'Souza and group performed a folk dance.
Games for adults and kids were arranged by Melwin Mascrenhas and Leena Fernandes.
The program continued with skits by Antony Miranda and team, live singing from Maxim and Irene Pinto and folk dance by committee members.
Prem Crasto captured the whole event with his skill in photography. DJ Ralph Serrao played lovely numbers.
Housie housie was also part of the program and conducted by Edward D’Souza and Steeve Rodrigues.
Vice president Rishawn Dsouza proposed the vote of thanks.
Founder president Lawrence Saldanha appreciated all those who worked for the success of the event.
Prayer before meal was recited by Cathy Machado and grace before meal by Razel Menezes. The delicious Mangalurean food was served by Deepak Martis to all the guests.
The program was well compered by Melwyn Mascrenhas and Edward D’Souza. The program was coordinated by Leena Fernandes and well supported by management committee members.
