Udupi, Dec 17: Sangeeth Sardar Wilson Olivera's 40th musical nite was successfully presented at Manipal Church Ground on Sunday December 6. The musical show organised by Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh (R) and Christ Church parish unit.
More than 1,500 in number, were gathered to witness and enjoy the musical nite filled with foot tapping music and rib-tickling comedy. This musical nite was staged as a fund raiser to support the development of Christ Church Building, Manipal.
The show began with a curtain raiser from the composition of Wilson Olivera 'Tumso Maka Ugdas Ailo' The master of ceremony for the evening, Ronald Olivera, younger brother of Wilson, engaged the crowd and kept them asking for more. The combination of these brothers added more flavor to the show with their oratory and singing skills.
The first song of the evening, 'Galancher Tamsan Kashi', was a solo number from renowned artist Rony Crasta which was then followed by 'Yore tu Yore Moga' sung by Shilpa Cutinha.
This was not all, the high voltage entertainment also featured other popular numbers from Wilson Olivera's compositions like 'Novro Sod Ge', 'Amcha Bapa', 'Bombaichen Chedum', 'Mother Theresa', 'Maka Raslan Go Tuje Kathir', ' Vosunk Assa', 'Maka Satra Sampoon Attra Lagli', 'Dhad Dhad', 'Vigar', 'Kenna Kenna', 'Konkangar', and 'Moja Jeevanth'.
The entertainment was top-notch with some of the prominent singers of konkani- Rony Crasta, Nelson Lewis, Joseph Mathias, Priya Menezes, Shilpa Cutinha, Karen Sequeira and Stuart Olivera who supported Wilson Olivera in the singing, while ‘Nach Sobhann', the famous dance troupe led by renowned choreographer Avil D'cruz from Mangaluru kept the audience spell bound by their astounding moves.
The other attractions of the evening also featured the well-known comedians Alwyn Andrade, Stroiney Pais, Stephen Lewis, Stephen Rodrigues and Sujatha Andrade who added a touch of delightful humour with their stand-up comedy.
The music was arranged by drummer Sachin, Trinity Live Music Group and School, Mangaluru and Manipal.
Wilson Olivera's 41st musical nite will be held on January 17, 2016 at Chowdiah Memorial Hall in Bengaluru.
