Mangaluru, Dec 16: Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi on Wednesday December 16 expressed strong opposition to the proposed visit of well-known Islamic scholar Dr Zakir Naik to Mangaluru and warned that the government will be responsible if peace is disrupted.
Addressing the press meet Vijay Kumar leader of Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi said, "The district administration should not give permission for Dr Zakir Naik's programme to be held. In all his speeches Dr Naik has insulted and passed inflammatory remarks against Hindu deities, idol worship and the national song of India. We have submitted the memorandum to the deputy commissioner and police commissioner in this regard for permission not to be given for the programme. We also strongly condemn and oppose the government's backing of his visit to the district.
Naik in his speeches also spoke in favor of the Taliban and of Osama bin Laden he added. Kumar also said that we are fighting in a legal manner. Hindu Janajagruthi Samithi along with other pro-Hindu organizations will hold a protest on December 22 opposing the visit of Zakir Naik.
Kumar Malemar, pro-Hindu activist said, "All Hindus should protest by waving a black flag. We condemn the move of the state government."
