Washington, Dec 16 (IANS): China and Japan, two top buyers of US securities, have reduced their holdings in October, latest data from the treasury department shows.
China cut its holdings of the treasuries by $3.2 billion to $1.2548 trillion in October, the second consecutive month for its holding reduction, Xinhua cited the treasury department as saying on Tuesday.
Japan, the second largest foreign holder of US treasuries, cut its holding by $27.9 billion to $1.1492 trillion in October.
Overall foreign holdings of US Treasury securities in October dropped to $6.0463 trillion from $6.1031 trillion in September.
