“There is too much of air pollution in the city. Number of vehicle has also increased a lot over the years. We will call a special meeting to introduce measures to contain these problems,” he said.
When asked will the Delhi model be introduced as it is, Siddaramaiah said the model will be known only after discussion in the meeting.
Siddaramaiah said that he had promised during the assembly elections that he would appoint a minister just to manage the affairs of the city and accordingly a minster has been allotted with the Bengaluru portfolio. Step by step, problems affecting the city will be solved, he said.
Under the Delhi model, a vehicle can travel in the city only on alternate days. Odd and even numbered vehicles take turns every other day. Diesel vehicles registration has been totally stopped in Delhi.
