Bengaluru, Dec 12: Kings University of USA and SAMS trust jointly held a convocation programme at Hotel Maurya in Bengaluru for successful entrepreneurs on December 11. At the convocation presided over by Kings University America, president Dr Selvamoni Selvin Kumar, organizer of the national convention Hemalatha Sugavanam presented a doctorate to Navi Mumbai resident businessman Shiva M Moodigere who has become popular through social work.
Kizhanoor Rajendra, Nawab Sir Najhaf Ali Khan Hyderabad, Dr S S Prakasam Bengaluru, S Ramakrishnan Chennai, Dr N S Somashekar and Varadarajan Sampoothooru were present as guests at the programme.
Shiva, popularly known as Shivanna was born to poor parents late Motanna and Seethamma of Moodigere in 1974. He completed his primary education at Develkere village school and high school education at
Gonibeedu Hoysala school and Ambedkar school. As he was more inclined towards social work since childhood, he discontinued his education and came to Mumbai in order to materialize his dream of being self reliant.
Shivanna arrived in Mumbai in 1991 and started a small tea shop in a company known as Natani. From there on, he worked at a hotel and then became a partner in a hotel. He has supported several businessmen.
He is now the president of Mumbai's anti corruption and intelligence committee, president of Raighad human rights, trustee of Nerol Manikanta Service committee, executive president of Kannadiga journalists association, Maharastra and Dharmashastra Charitable trust, trustee.
In 2009 he married Jyothi Moodigere and has two sons, Siddarth and Sripada.
