Margao, Aug 22: Churchill Alemao, minister for PWD said that if chief minister Digamber Kamat nods to the concrete roads (cemented) in Goa, he will implement the same to give everlasting better roads.
“I have seen the situation of Goan roads, all are filled with potholes. I will inquire this, as to how the newly-constrtucted roads just dilapidated, as before assembly election all the major roads were hot-mixed. Action will be taken against those contractors”, said Alemao.
Alemao also said that he will build the bridges wherever required and will eradicate the ferry system, as to give good service to people.
Recently the Assolna people had organized programme called "swim for bridge'', as they have to cross the river by ferry, and government had sidelined their demand of bridge. But now Alemao has promised people of Goa to give good roads along with bridges wherever required.
"I can see traffic congestion everywhere. I know without commissioning the over-bridges at crucial points, it is just impossible to tackle this problem. In this regard I will speak to chief minister," he said.
Alemao alleged that engineers and contractors have totally failed to give better roads and said that they do not have proper method to do so. "I know some technical points and at what degree the tar should be melted to spill on roads," he added.
"Believe me, Goans should give me some time and I will give them best service," Alemao told Daijiworld correspondent.
