Pacheco discharged from casino extortion case

Goa, Dec 8: The local court today discharged former state tourism minister and current legislator Fransisco Miccky Pacheco from the case related to extortion and intimidation to a casino owner.

Chief judicial magistrate, Margao discharged the case filed against Pacheco.

Pacheco and another accused Mathew Diniz were charged in the alleged case of assault and criminal intimidation filed by Gerald Fernandes, who was then the general manager of the Treasures Casino of the Majorda Beach Resort.

The incident was reported during 2009 when the legislator was seen on cctv fighting with the casino staff.
