Goa, Dec 8: Two days after the truck owners resorted to agitation, Vedanta Sesa Goa Iron Ore has refused to budge to the demand of the truck owners stating that the self proclaimed leaders of the truckers wont be recognized.

“We have engaged around 1300 trucks for the e-auctioned and fresh mining ore movement from Codli, Dharbandoda, Usgao, Pali, Bhamai, Navelim to Surla/Amona. We negotiate the terms and conditions of work with these truck owners,” says the press release by the company.

“If these truck owners ask us to recognize any representative as their leader, we are open to look at such a proposal. But we cannot recognize any self-proclaimed leader as their representative,” the press note has added.

All Goa Truck Owners Association had resorted to agitation against the company after it failed to give the proper rate to transport the ore.

“Vedanta Sesa Goa Iron Ore has been the first company to start mining activity in Goa. It has also been the pioneer in starting the transport of fresh iron ore recently produced in its Codli Mine,” the company has said.
