Dammam, Dec 7: As part of the Prasthutha decennial, Prasthutha Readers Forum, organized a literary program 'Prasthutha Readers Evening' recently at Paragon Hotel auditorium.
Greeshma, the young talent and the daughter of Dr Muralidhar and Dr Geetha, initiated the program with her melodious song.
Speaking on 'Democracy and the media', Abdul Razaq Kemmara, the member of editorial board of Prasthutha Fortnightly said, “Media has now become a profit base industry like other businesses and media which are supposed to bolster social justice are now operating in accordance with the interest of corporate companies and political parties. In these situations, fortunately some locally started media has still maintained media ethics to bolster the social justice and we are proud to say that Prasthutha Fortnightly is also one such media,” Kemmara said.
Another guest NarendraShetty, president of MASA association conveyed his best wishes for the Prasthutha Fortnightly and the program. MuhammedShabir, the ex editor of Prasthutha Fortnightly delivered a nice preface to the program. Fayaz N, president of Prasthutha Readers Forum, presided over the seminar and delivered the main speech.
On this occasion, Naushad Katipalla, a social activist was honored as 'Prasthutha Man of the Year' and presented a shawl and a memento by Abdul RazaqKemmara. Imthiaz, president of India Fraternity Forum, Karnataka, released the 'Prasthutha Calender – 2016'. Ashraf Kukkaje coordinated the program.
The audience delighted in the poetry 'Kavya Lahari Kavi Goshti' which was held late in the evening. The senior popular poet, Jaleel Mukri hosted this program. The other poets, Abdul Khadar Maravoor, Anwar Mat, Abdul Razaq Kemmara, A M Arif Jokatte and Fayaz N created a tremble in the audience with their beautiful poetry. All the poets who participated in the program were honored with a memento by Prasthutha Readers Forum.
The awards were given to Shakir Akkarangadi who won the essay competition and Nizamuddin Tabuk who won the poetry competition which was held as part of 'Prasthutha Readers Evening' program. The awards were also distributed to Nisar Jubail who won first place and Abdul Khadar who won second place in the multilingual song competition which was held for NRIs.
Azaruddin Thodar and Ashraf Kukkaje hosted the program. Irshad Mangalore delivered the vote of thanks.
