"Parsekar will be the party's chief ministerial candidate. The party will gain majority in the state for 2017 elections," BJP Goa President Vinay Tendulkar told reporters today.
The announcement is crucial considering the recent statement by union defence minister Manohar Parrikar about credible leadership in the smaller states.
Hours after the announcement, the chief minister said he is ready to take any and every responsibility given by the party.
He said he has always followed the party's order.
"if party wants me to take the responsibility i am ready to do so. It is a big responsibility and i ensure to do justice,” Parsekar said.
