Goa CM clears crucial Regional Plan file

Goa, Nov 30: State chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar has finally signed the file pertaining to Regional Plan 2012, a land use plan which has generated much heat in the State. The plan would now be put before the state for suggestions and objections.

The sources in the secretariat said Parsekar has signed the file which grants permission for the State Town and Country Planning department to seek suggestions and objections on the land use plan.

The BJP had assured in its manifesto during 2012 that they would scrap the old RP, which had run into rough weather and draft new consulting the people.

Parsekar has granted approval of one month for receiving suggestions and objections.

The plan would be kept open in the first week of December.

Deputy chief minister Francis D’Souza, who is also holding TCP portfolio, said the RP would be notified by April 1, 2016.

State government is bracing up to have special suggestions for the RP 2021.

As per the information available under Right to Information (RTI) total 166 VP had submitted their inputs for correction of finally notified RP21 while 15 VP have demanded that the plan be scrapped.
