Mangaluru: Kala-Sangam draws to a colourful close

Mangaluru, Nov 30: The series of musical and cultural competitions ‘Kala-Sangam 2015’ organized by Mangalore Musical and Cultural Association (MMCA) concluded with an award ceremony at Gitanjali, Lower Bendore here on Sunday November 29.









The programme began with invocation. Children from various schools entertained the audience with a colourful cultural programme.

Prizes were awarded to the winners of a variety of competitions namely Bhakti Sudhanjali (patriotic songs - group), Kalaanjali (singing, dance and drama), Vesha Bhooshanjali (fancy dress) and Jananagali (quiz) among others which were organized over the past few days.

Kindergarten and lower primary first prize were won by Lourdes Central School, higher primary first prize by Mount Carmel School, primary first prize went to St Theresa School and high school first prize was won by Mount Carmel school. They were all awarded with trophies.

MMCA conferred the 'Kala Ratna Award' on Ester Noronha and ‘Vishwa Ratna Award' on Judith Mascarenhas, John Anchan, Felix Frank D'Silva and Dr Derek Lobo.

Adolph Lobo of MMCA, Fr Joseph Martis, rector of Jeppu seminary and others were present at the occasion.
