Puttur: Two die in collision of truck and car

Puttur, Nov 26: An accident involving a truck and a car occurred on Kunthoor bridge near Kadaba on Wednesday November 25 evening. This accident took away the lives of two persons, while two more, who were seriously injured, are battling for their lives.

The deceased have been identified as Srikantamurty (58), a native of Devanahalli Bengaluru, and Ravikumar (45). Srikantamurty died on the spot. Ravikumar passed at a hospital later in the day.

Two occupants of the car, Mohan Babu and Latha, suffered grave injuries. Both of them were admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru. Prashant, who was driving the truck, escaped unscathed.

Four persons from Bengaluru had arrived at Dharmasthala to pay obeisance to the presiding deity there. They were moving to Subrahmanya thereafter for pilgrimage when tragedy struck. The bridge where the accident occurred is located between Kadaba and Subrahmanya, under the jurisdiction of Kadaba police station.

Kadaba station house officer and other personnel reached the spot, paved way for the traffic to resume, and registered a case. Investigation has been undertaken.
