Mumbai: Uthana Dwadashi celebrated in Gokula

Mumbai, Nov 25: Gopalakrishna Public trust and BSKB association held Bhajans at Gokula every evening at 6 pm between November 12 and November 23 as a part of Uthana Dwadashi celebrations.


Bhajan troupes from Meera Road, Andheri, Jerimeri, Matunga, Chembur, Goregaon, Navi Mumbai, Santacruz and Borivli actively participated in Bhajans during the days. Women and young girls from Gokula performed dances under direction from Sahana Bharadwaj on November 20. Kannada Sahitya Parishat Maharastra unit sponsored the programme with the vision of H B L Rao.

Sahana Pothi and Ramadas played violin and saxophone and Gokula Kalavrinda performed bhajans on festival day, November 23. The religious rituals were led by priests Hari Bhat and party. The president of the association, office bearers, working committee members, priests and devotees participated in the rituals.

President Dr Suresh Rao couple was the sponsor of the programme. Several donors had contributed towards the festival. More than 300 devotees were distributed Theertha prasada and meals at the end of the programme.
