Udupi, Nov 25: Dr G Parameshwara, president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Samithi, Bengaluru and Karnataka state home minister has appointed popular congress and social leader of Udupi, Sathish Ameen
Padukere as the Udupi Block Congress committee president with immediate effect.
Sathish Ameen born in Padukere, completed his primary school education at Kudrukere Zilla Panchayat primary school, metric and post metric education at Malpe Fisheries school and BCom degree from MGM College.
He has served as the former president of Pudukere rural youth congress, former president of Padukere Yuvaka Mandala, president of Malpe – Padukere bridge project supervision committee, honorary president of Padukere Riksha drivers and owners association and former president of Malpe Deep Sea Trawl boat owner's association. The historic decision that fish at Malpe Fisheries port should be bought in public only after weighing on an electronic scale was taken during his tenure as president.
He started Udupi district Mogaveera youth association, established more than 30 of its units all over Udupi district and brought together more than twelve thousand Mogaveera male and female youth with one banner under its umbrella. He arranged free mass weddings through Mogaveera youth association started by him and gave an excellent example after getting married as one among the 59 couples who got married through it.
He held programmes for the poor of all religions and places. Among the programmes successfully held by him under the association are free note books for poor children, health card, blood donation camps and
other pro people programmes.
Sathish Padukere was Udupi block vice president and is elevated to the position of Udupi block Congress committee president on recommendation by Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj.
