Goa, Nov 24: Film and Television Institute of India’s (FTII) plans to have parallel film festival on the sidelines of ongoing IFFI has come under scanner of Goa government who has now asked them the detailed of their proposed event.

District collector Nila Mohanan has issued notice to FTII students formally asking them to submit the details of the festival that is scheduled this weekend.

Goa is currently hosting IFFI which will culminate on November 30. The students who are on long strike against appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as their chief had announced their own film festival as IFFI organizers had refused to give them platform. FTII students annually participate in IFFI as a part of their curriculum.

The students this year were arrested by Goa police after they staged protest at the venue.

Mohanan has now asked the students to submit detailed proposal about their proposed festival.
