Milan, Nov 23 (IANS): Italian football giants Inter Milan's coach Roberto Mancini has warned "there are three or four teams better equipped for the league title" after his team became the new Serie A leaders.
Inter went two points clear at the top of the table after Fiorentina and AS Roma were held 2-2 on Saturday, but face second-placed Napoli on November 30.
“There are three or four teams better equipped than us to win the Scudetto. We are happy to be up there, but there’s a long way to go this season,” the coach was quoted as saying by Football Italia on Sunday after crushing Frosinone 4-0.
“I don’t think the Napoli game will be decisive for the league. Napoli, Roma, Fiorentina and Juventus are better equipped to win the title."
“We are satisfied, it was not easy to win this game, especially 4-0. I am particularly happy for Jonathan Biabiany’s goal. He’s a lovely guy and a player who can give us a lot of quality.”
Mancini also said Inter are not trying to take legendary midfielder Andrea Pirlo on loan from American club New York City FC.
“He is a great player who decided to have a different experience after winning everything in Italy. I haven’t spoken to him, but as far as I know he doesn’t intend to return.”
