Tokyo, Nov 20 (IANS): Tokyo shares opened lower on Friday with export-oriented issues hit by a stronger yen against the US dollar.
At 9.15 a.m. (local time), the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 73.08 points (0.37 percent) from Thursday to 19,786.73, Xinhua reported.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 5.84 points (0.36 percent) to 1,594.54.
