Nothing should disrupt Asia-Pacific development, says Xi

Manila, Nov 18 (IANS): Chinese President Xi Jinping said here on Wednesday that Asia-Pacific economies should never allow anything to disrupt the region's development process.

Addressing an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation CEO summit, Xi urged APEC members to spare no efforts to foster a peaceful environment conducive to development, Xinhua reported.

Asia-Pacific nations, Xi added, should respect one another's development paths chosen in line with their respective conditions and resolve differences through dialogue and consultation.

He expressed confidence that the vast Pacific Ocean will become a bridge of cooperation, a bond of friendship and a common home for people across the Asia-Pacific region.
