Goa's winter assembly session in January

Panaji, Nov 16: The upcoming State Legislative Assembly session would be held in January, 2016, which would also be the first session for the year.

Anant Shet will be sworn in as Speaker of the assembly during the session.

BJP-led government has recently sworn in then speaker Rajendra Arlekar in the cabinet, the berth which was vacant after resignation of Fransisco Miccky Pacheco. Amidst the strong lobbying, Shet was selected as the Speaker.

The election for the Speaker is likely to be held unopposed as opposition benches fall much short to get their candidate selected for the coveted post.
