Panaji, Nov 16: Goa’s first super sprint triathlon, organised by Adventure Breaks and in support of Children's Rights Goa was held on Sunday November 15.

The event saw around 150 local, national and international athletes, swim, cycle and run their way to victory.

The manageable distances (400m swim at Campal Pool, followed by 10km cycle and 2.5km run) provided a great opportunity for many new triathletes to train for and complete their first race and welcomed
experienced triathletes too.

In the junior category, Ananya Mukherjee took first place for the women and Vishwanath Yadav for the men.

Nisha Madgavkar won the open women category and Dhiraj Sawant the open men.

Veteran winners were Nilesh Salkar (men) and Aly Von Moltke (women).

The fastest team was Akshay Fulambarkar, Amit Kadam and Ajinkya Balwadkar.

Participants and spectators enjoyed a well organised race and fantastic atmosphere.

The success of the event would not have been possible without the dedication of an outstanding team of volunteers, rising at 4.30 am on Sunday morning to take timings, direct participants and serve refreshments.

Goa Super Sprint Triathlon would like to congratulate all participants and thank their sponsors (Qua Nutrition, Maracas, Tuscany Gardens and Carasid) and all volunteers. We look forward to seeing you next year for an even bigger and better event!
