Panaji, Nov 14: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which is still facing ripple effect of Bihar poll debacle told reporters in Goa on Friday that the ‘anti-decadent’ and ‘mood elavator’ that triggered in the Northern state cannot be replicated in Goa.
BJP’s statement comes a day after independents and Congress party in the State have rumoured to have tried Bihar like ‘Mahagathbandhan’ in Goa for 2017 assembly polls.
"The arithmetic went wrong for BJP in Bihar but that does not mean it will repeat itself in Goa too. In Goa, people know the difference between two governments. The mood elavator for Congress will have no impact here," BJP’s Goa spokesman Dr Wilfred Mesquita, who is also a former Congress minister, told reporters.
BJP-led government won 2012 Goa polls leaving Congress to single digit, while a group of five independents was also elected to the state legislative assembly.
The BJP leader took a dig at Congress in the State claiming that "the party (Congress) will be left with no alliance partners in 2017 elections".
