'Diya Aur Baati Hum' completes 1,200 episodes


New Delhi, Nov 13 (IANS): At a time when finite series are becoming popular on Hindi television, Star Plus' primetime TV show “Diya Aur Baati Hum” has logged 1,200 episodes - the last timed with Diwali.

In its fourth year of telecast, the show has witnessed various ups and downs in the lives of its lead pair Sandhya (Deepika Singh) and Sooraj (Anas Rashid). The actors have enjoyed their time on the show, which is about a loving husband who helps his ambitious wife achieve her dreams of becoming an IPS officer.

"The journey on 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' has been phenomenal. Our entire team works day in and day out to ensure that every episode continues to entertain the audiences. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the fans of the show for their unconditional love and support for the show,” Deepika said in a statement.

“It feels like yesterday that we started and today we've completed 1,200 episodes. The journey has been full of love and hope it continues to be the same,” she added.

Anas too is overjoyed.

"It's a huge achievement for the entire cast and crew. It's an overwhelming feeling to see your show continue to do so well even after so many episodes and years of telecast. I want to thank everyone associated with the show for the hard work. It all pays off when we get to celebrate such lovely achievements,” he said.
