Kasargod, Nov 12: An auto rickshaw driver was stabbed and seriously injured in the town early morning on Thursday November 12. He has been hospitalized in Mangaluru.

The injured driver is Sandeep (34), a resident of Battampare in the outskirts of the town. Sandeep, who was stabbed, was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood near KSRTC bus stand here. A watchman saw him and conveyed information to the policemen of the town station here.

The police personnel reached the spot immediately and took Sandeep to the hospital here. As his condition was found to be serious, he was taken to a hospital in Mangaluru at the advice of the doctors here.

Unidentified miscreants inflicted injuries on Sandeep perhaps as soon as he reached the auto rickshaw stand early morning. It is gathered that Sandeep used to operate his three-wheeler in the town during the night shift.

District superintendent of police, Dr A Srinivas, deputy superintendent of police, Sukumaran, police circle inspector, Sudhakaran, and other police officials visited the spot and undertook investigation. The policemen, who have arranged for tight vigil all over the town, have launched an operation to nab the culprits involved with this crime.
