Mysuru MP Prathap Simha gets threat on Facebook


Mysuru, Nov 12 (DHNS): Following a threat to his life on a Facebook post, Mysuru and Kodagu MP Prathap Simha has complained to Police Commissioner B Dayananda.

A Facebook page created in the name “Mysuru Huli Shahide Millath Mahan Tippu Sultan (Tipu Sultan)” and posted by an Indian Muslim on November 10 at 9.09 pm reads as follows (in Kannada) - “Prathap Naayi Muslimara viruddha maathu rajakiyada bele beyisuva karya mundoodidare (ninna saavu heegeye)” (If you continue to play politics by making anti-Muslim comment, you will meet the same end. A photo of Simha, along with the picture of the mortal remains of VHP leader Kuttappa, who died during the clash in Madikeri on Tuesday, with a comment by Simha saying, “Melinda Kuttappanavaru biddu mruthapattila. Rajya sarkaradinda thiruchuva prayatna” (Kuttappa has not fallen to death. State government is trying to distort the facts) has also been posted.

The tagline reads as follows: “Prathap ninna saavu e thara barada haage yochisu” (Prathap think over not dying the same way).

Police Commissioner B Dayananda, who confirmed to have received an oral complaint from the MP in this regard, said, a security cover has been provided at the latter’s house in Vijayanagar Second Stage, in the City.

The MP is expected to lodge a written complaint on Thursday.
