New Delhi, Nov 6 (IANS): India and China here on Friday signed two memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on water resources and culture with visiting Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao and his Indian counterpart Hamid Ansari present on the occasion.
"Widening #IndiaChina engagement. Indian & Chinese Vice Presidents witness signing of MoUs on Water Resrces & Culture," Vikas Swarup, spokesperson in the ministry of external affairs, tweeted.
The two leaders also held talks on various issues.
Vice President Li, who arrived in Aurangabad on Tuesday, also visited Kolkata where he met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi, before arriving in New Delhi on Thursday night.
He is also scheduled to meet President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi later on Friday.
According to Swarup, this is the first visit by a Chinese vice president to India in over 60 years.
