Udupi: Pejavar expresses displeasure over distortion of his comment

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Nov 6: Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejavar Math said that he had never advised the chief minister (CM) to organize pork feasts in front of mosques. "It is true that in response to the CM's statement about consuming beef, I had queried him whether in the name of personal freedom he was prepared to organize pork feasts in front of mosques, private, and government land. I have never asked anyone to hold pork feasts in front of mosques," he clarified.

The Swamiji said that several persons, who did not properly assimilate what he said about consumption of pork, had expressed their dissatisfaction in the media. "It was never my opinion that feast containing pork should be held in front of mosques," he insisted.

Sri Vishweshateertha added that he had mentioned about pork to drive home the point that it was not proper to hurt the sentiments of Hindus too, just like the Muslims."I always hold the view and people belonging to majority and minority communities should be treated equally. I have not said anything with the intention of hurting anyone," he added.

The Swamiji said he has friendly and harmonious relationship with Muslims, and that he had taken part in big events organized by Muslims at Mangaluru, Kasargod, and other places. He recollected that during his Paryaya term, he had held friendly meet of Hindus and Muslims during Eid at the Rajangana of the Math. He said he does not want anyone to feel hurt by his statement. "I have a sense of affection and pride about our chief minsister, and I always appreciate good work done by him. I also want him to complete his term. At the same time, I am unhappy that my statement was wrongly projected by some," he said in a press statement.

It is sad to hear in the news that cow and pig is going as a major issue. Dear friends, with this kind of statements politician reap a lot. Let us all love and respect our mother land India and its people. Every religion calls us to lead a life with the message of 'brotherhood'. Small things let us not make major issues. Let us respect every Indians religion and same time uphold their values. Let us also care for the cow as she is gomatha to our brothers and sisters. We have freedom of speech but with this freedom, let us not hurt our won people.
I attend Pashupathi temple, involve in Pooja, receive prasrada, I visit church, pray to God, I attend mosque and namaz as I am working in a foreign land. God is one, let us all respect all religions and their sentiments. If we start sowing hatred in the name of our religion, we may end with disasters. Lets live and also let others live. All of us are Indians. May all of us have insight to realize and act in a civilized way for the least of every Indian brother & sister. If other religion patient attends the hospital, another religion doctor, nurse happily treat the patient, question of religion never comes on their way. If we keep dividing on the basis of our religion, our Indian fabric of unity in diversity will weaken, let us awake, teach our younger generations as 'We are Indians, - 1 India' Let us respect and take care every-ones beliefs, religion and way of life without having adverse effects on others.
Let us build one India- Unity in diversity.

    My two cents.

Earlier pigs where considered as filthy as they eat all sorts of things.

Now a days, pigs are reared in clean farms. Whereas cows are left out to eat all sorts of things.

@Suresh Udipi, lets make Thing clear here.we should not make comments about what a animal is consuming,or how it is fed.but the present Situation is that we fight each other with the Name of animal and hate each other communitys.Do you find it is good? One should respect the other what he consumes or respect the one who adores the animal.Pigs meat is also consumed by Hindus and katholics.Beef is all over world as less cholestorol meat consumed and in India.because it is at present in India, not allowed doesnt mean one should allow bad comments about it.because Beef is prohibited in India, some do Business in black. It can be avoided if slaughtering is allowed, noone will go to steal cows or do black Business.

Again & again this same non-sense. Why beef should hurt feelings of Hindus??? From thousand & thousand years beef was eaten by all who liked it and there was no problem at all. Now, why suddenly this beef issue that too after Modi's victory??? Our ancestors were adorned far better in their religious beliefs and practices and there were absolutely no problems with regard of consuming food items. Food habits were purely personal and confirmed only within the family. So, is it not the hatred feeling of some evil minded people creating problem and their attitude of vomiting venom of hateredness adding fuel to the fire day by day. It is better that we, each one, try to quench this fire at its beginning or else it will surely burn all of us. Thank you and God bless each one of us.

Dear Swamiji, We Muslim don't consider PIG as Holy but rather Filthy animal and hence don't consume it. But Your free to consume it and the same you can in public. But Tell me what Ramayana and other vedas have to say about Cow slaughter.
