Sharjah, Oct 31 (Khaleej Times): A sports kit found in the middle of Al Juraina Market in Sharjah created panic among residents and shoppers on Friday.
The police told Khaleej Times that they received a call at their emergency number at about 4pm saying that a bomb was found inside the market. Bomb experts, forensic teams and police patrols rushed to the market.
The market was soon evacuated and cordoned off and combed for explosives. A thorough search revealed an abandoned sports kit. Apparently, its owner had forgotten it in the middle of the market.
The Sharjah Police have called on the public not to panic under such situations and to cooperate with the police as they carry out the task of ensuring the safety and security of the city.
