Clothes have girl power: Victoria Beckham

Los Angeles, 30 Oct (IANS): Singer-turned-fashion designer Victoria Beckham says her clothing line promotes the message of girl power.

"I did have to find myself and my confidence. And I want to make other women feel like the best version of themselves. That's the same message as the Spice Girls. It's still girl power," Victoria was quoted as saying to America's Glamour magazine, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

The former Spice Girls member says she has "never (been) best at anything", but believes anything can be achieved with hardwork.

"Work hard, stay focused, be appreciative, and really, really go for it. I was told I couldn't do lots of things, so if I can do it, you can. Nothing ever came naturally to me. I was never the cleverest, never best at anything. But we always tell our children that if you work hard and believe in yourself, you can do what you want."

Away from her design career and raising her family, Victoria, who is married to football star David Beckham, is also an international goodwill ambassador for UNAIDS and says being a mother created a "real pull" for her to help others.

"Motherhood puts us all on one level. I just felt this real pull to help," she said.
